Friends, trannies, country-women, lend me your ears and welcome to my new column. As many of you know from my nothing-if-not-colorful memoir, Alice in Genderland, I'm a psychiatrist and a crossdresser. Through this unusual looking glass, I'll be exploring issues like crossdressing, transitioning, relationships, and sexuality.
I'm a Los Angeles based psychotherapist and psychopharmacologist and member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (formerly known as the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association) who has worked with many transgendered people, as well as gay, lesbian, bi, and yes even straight people. I welcome your feedback and ideas for future topics at Alice.novic@verizon.net.
URNA is pleased to be able to provide a space for Alice and the URNotAlone Community to interact via her Through the Looking Glass Column!

An Artist Out and Proud
Welcome back Through the Looking Glass, my friends. Today I’m here with Trisha van Cleef, who is a rather exceptional person in our community; she is a completely out crossdresser. I mean she lets it be known that she is Paul Whitehead, the professional artist famous for the surrealist album covers he designed for Genesis in the 1970s. And, get this, Paul Whitehead lets it be openly known that he is also a crossdresser named Trisha Van Cleef. Check out some great art and see for yourself on his/her website: http://www.paulwhitehead.com.

Women on the Verge of Transition: Interview #1 - Trisha
Welcome back Through the Looking Glass, my friends.
Today I’m here with my good friend Trisha Palermo. She has recently emerged on the trans night scene here in Los Angeles and is already very well known and well-liked thanks to her great looks and gutsy attitude.
A: Trisha, can you please tell us about your week-to-week lifestyle?
T: First I would just like to say it is a pleasure to do this with you, Alice. At the moment my life is pretty split between my girl life and my on... [more]
Analyzing the Poison
Welcome back Through the Looking Glass, my friends. Today, I’d like to offer you all something I’ve never done before in print. About a month ago, my CD friend Lilly broke up with a man who wasn’t treating her with the kind of respect she’s used to. He took her on some cool dates but kept referring to her as a man. Determined to have the last word, he then sent her this poison-pen email. Which I suppose is simply life in the big city - except he had to drag me into it. Other than the fact that he insults me terribly, I appreciate this fellow'... [more]

Through the Looking Glass, Column 16 (Jan 12, 2008)Jury Duty in a Dress
Hi folks, I’ve got something really special for you today. When I learned that my crossdressing pal Dianna did jury duty in dress, I was so impressed. What a way to turn a loathsome chore into a fresh new chance to express your femme side and show people that we... [more]
Through the Looking Glass, Column 15 (Dec 10, 2007)What Crossdressers Want to Know Part 2—continued:
What Can We Learn From Gay People?
